Dear Christian, you are homophobic, irrelevant and judgmental. ~Non-Christian

Dear Students of The University of Toledo,

I’m writing to say I’m sorry.
I’m sorry for being hypocritical.
I’m sorry for being irrelevant, judgmental and homophobic.
I’m sorry that we’ve so often missed the point of what Jesus was all about (to be continued)...

Please join us on monday night at 8PM [Student Union] as we honestly explore our shortcomings and what it means in light of Gods unconditional love for EVERYONE.

I wrote this letter [posted all over campus] in response to a survey that asked young adults what they thought of Christians.
The top 3 answers were...

1. Judgmental.
2. Homophobic.
3. Irrelevant.

The saddest part about this survey to me was that if Jesus were physically on earth and these people spent time with him, they would like him.

I'm not saying they would necessarily follow him. I'm saying they would REALLY like him. And they would want to be around him. Just read the gospels.

People who were NOTHING like Jesus loved to be around him.

But somewhere along the line, something got lost in the translation and followers of Jesus became synonymous with judgmental, homophobic and Irrelevant.

That could be because 'they' don't get it. Or because 'they' are out to get us.

Or could it be something else?

Could it be those are the top 3 things people think of Christians because its true?
Could it be we ARE judgmental, irrelevant, homophobes? What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Why do you think 'homophobic', 'judgmental' and 'irrelevant' are the top 3 things unbelievers think of Christians? And what should our response be?

[Hi friends. I sincerely missed you all. Good to be back. Hope we don't miss a beat. Please dive in, dialogue and also support me by sharing. Thanks]
