Spiritual lessons from the world's dumbest dog.

How dumb is my dog?
So dumb he left a dent in my refrigerator from walking into it.
How dumb is my dog?
So dumb he tries to jump out the car window every time he sees something interesting.
How dumb is my dog?
So dumb he chases his tail until he gets dizzy then stumbles over.
How dumb is my dog?
Super duper dumb.
But there's one thing I'll give him...
When he sets his heart on something, nothing can stop him.
He'll try to run through the fridge, jump into oncoming traffic and chase himself because he's dumb enough to think he'll actually get to it.
I envy him. I wanna be like him.
I'm not saying I want to ram my head into the fridge every time i want some pop... or jump out of a moving car whenever I drive by a Krispy Kreme store.
I do however want to be dumb enough to believe that God can do anything.
I heard this expression a month ago from Steven Furtick and it rocked my world.
He said he wanted to be a part of a generation thats dumb enough to believe God can do anything.
Wow. Do you feel the chills run down your soul?
I tweeted this after I read it and a bunch of people responded by saying it's not dumb to trust God.
I know. Trusting God is the smartest thing we can do. I know.
That's not the point though. The idea is...
If we really have faith that nothing is impossible for Jesus...
If we really believed that Jesus can do anything...
If we risked, prayed and lived like our God can move the mountains...
We will look really dumb to tons of people.
And I'm not talking about your non-Christian friends either. Of course, they won't get it.
That's the easy part. That's the normal part.
The fun part is when bible believing church going Christians think you're dumb for having that kind of faith.
And trust me, if you make it a habit of writing checks only God can cash, much of the world will think you are dumb.
But if you hang in there, you just might see God do something that will point much of the world to the greatness of Jesus.
I wanna be a part of a generation thats dumb enough to believe God is great enough to do anything.
Here's a check I'm currently trying to write that makes me sound really dumb...
I'm trusting God that our new ministry will reach 50K young adults in the Toledo area.
Its okay if you laugh. I think its ridiculous too. I really do.
Honestly I cringe whenever I say it cause come on, thats over the top.
It is.
For us.
Jesus on the other hand?
Yea, he can do more in a second than we could do in a thousand years.
So I'm gonna trust him for crazy things because hey, you never know.
Anyone else wanna write a ridiculous check for your spouse, kids, ministry, job, health, school, dreams?
It's okay if you don't fully believe it. Just get it out there. Get it out. Take a baby step. Say something crazy. Run into the refrigerator. Faith is a muscle, exercise it.
Worst case scenario, random people you don't know on my blog will shake their heads at how dumb you sound while your faith is growing.
Best case? Jesus actually does it.
Whoa!
What's something dumb you're trusting God for?
